Don’s miss an evening of bluegrass and choral music at world-renowned Carnegie Hall on Monday, April 24 at 8pm. The evening will feature American composers Tim Sharp and Wes Ramsay’s Come Away to the Skies: A High, Lonesome Mass and the Carnegie Hall Premiere of Timothy Michael Powell’s Dear Appalachia: Songs For My Mountain Home with bluegrass combo (mandolin, fiddle, banjo, guitar, bass) and the Masterworks Festival Chorus, led by esteemed guest conductor Tim Sharp.

Conductor and composer Tim Sharp is approaching his ninth season as Artistic Director of the Tulsa Oratorio Chorus, Tulsa, OK, where critics characterize his performances as “impressively polished”, and having “stunning power” and “great passion and precision.” Composer and mandolin player Michael Powell has been hailed as “a skilled composer who understands the voice in all stages of development,” was a semi-finalist for the 2016 GRAMMY Music Educator Award, and won the American Prize in Choral Performance in 2012.

The concert will also include a feature performance from the National Festival Chorus in a selection of choral works including Haydn’s The Heavens are Telling from The Creation, Rachmaninoff’s Bogoroditse Devo, and more, with Grammy® Award-winning conductor Jerry Blackstone.
