The evening will feature the esteemed Manhattan School of Music Chamber Choir performing an array of choral works including Handel’s “Alleluia” from The King Shall Rejoice, and Mendelssohn’s “Wie der Hirsch schreit” from Psalm 42, led by conductor Ronnie Oliver, Jr. Past seasons have included performances with the New York Philharmonic in Walton’s Henry V, the Act I Finale of Mozart’s Don Giovanni, Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9, and Charles Ives’ Symphony No. 4.
The program will also feature the 80-voice University of Kentucky Men’s Chorus, one of the most decorated collegiate male choruses in the United States, led by conductor Jefferson Johnson. Highlights will include Conte’s “Dance” from Invocation and Dance, Bruckner’s “Inveni David,” Mulholland’s “Loveliest of Trees,” and more.
Also performing will be the National Festival Chorus, with guest conductor Jeffrey Benson, in a collection of short choral works including Mozart’s “Due Pupille Amabili,” Dilworth’s “Duond Akuru,” Thomas’ “I Dream a World,” and more.
