sun 1-5pm: coney island circus sideshow: after drying off from the plunge, catch a performance of the world famous coney island circus sideshow at sideshows by the seashore. $15. >>

sun 2pm-1am: the poetry project’s 49th annual new year’s day marathon: the word is out: 150+ poets and performers will read at the poetry project’s annual benefit, taking place over two five-hour blocks in person at st. mark’s church-in-the-bowery ($25-30) and online ($1-15 suggested donation). >>

sun 6pm-2am: 718 sessions new year’s day bash: kick off the new year with disco, soul, funk, and house at danny krivit’s annual new year’s day dance party. good room (greenpoint), $5 for the first 100 folks before 7pm, $15-25 otherwise. >>
