weds thru 11/30: punks don’t go home for thanksgiving: metrograph’s latest screening series spotlights cinematic interpretations of ‘punk’ from around the world, including burst city, suburbia, return of the living dead, the decline of western civilization, repo man, born in flames, class of 1984, my degeneration, i was a teenage serial killer, desperate living, and a restored edition of dennis hopper’s out of the blue. the metrograph (les), $17. >>

weds thru 11/24: jimmy webb collection: morrison hotel gallery (soho) hosts an exhibition of personal photos and accessories that belonged to jimmy webb, the famed fixture of punk boutiques trash + vaudeville and i need more who passed away from cancer last year. free admission. >>

weds 6pm: fifth avenue holiday kick off: fifth avenue gets merry and bright with 5,000 feet of lighting, hand-crafted animal sculptures and icebergs, giant toy installations, a skating rink, and more. the seasonal festivities begin tonight at the pulitzer fountain with a musical performance by the brooklyn youth chorus, a light show, hot beverages, and a city harvest donation drive. free admission. >>

weds 6pm: full bleed: new york city skateboard photography: pro skateboarder-turned-photographer alex corporan, multidisciplinary artist andre razo, and photographer ivory serra discuss their new book, full bleed, a collection of photographs taken by over 40 artists across 30 years that capture the world of nyc’s skateboarding culture. a q+a and book signing will follow the discussion. rizzoli bookstore (flatiron), free. >>
