The weather this Sunday is going to be sunny and gorgeous. Spend the day outside at 92Y’s annual Street Festival on Lexington Avenue (from 79th to 94th Streets).
This is no ordinary Street Fest…92Y brings its programs out to the community so you can sample activities and enter a free raffle to win up to $500 in credit you can spend on 92Y events and classes, or even a pair of round-trip tickets on JetBlue!
Last year over 50,000 people came out to enjoy this unique event, which includes International Way (food, culture and experiences from around the world), Wellness Way (free health screenings and a Ninja Warrior obstacle course for kids, with blender bikes to make your own smoothie and free massages courtesy of Weill Cornell), Kid Central (STEAM activities, games, beading and other crafts), a ceramics, fine arts and jewelry sale and more.
New this year are guided nature tours in Central Park from 92Y’s Continuing Education instructor Ken Chaya—come to their booth between 92nd and 93rd Streets at 1, 2 or 3 pm to join in. 92Y’s School of Dance will be hosting a glitter braids and buns station for kids between 92nd and 93rd Streets, too. And children can bring their stuffed animals to the charming teddy bear clinic at 85th Street (at Lexington Ave) sponsored by Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital at NYU.
Our fitness center is celebrating the event with their lowest membership offer of the year: $0 to join and $74 a month* with promo code STREETFEST18 through Sep 30.
There will also be live performances from Big Apple Circus and Broadway/Off-Broadway shows Beautiful – The Carole King Musical, Smokey Joe’s Cafe: The Songs of Leiber and Stoller, Once on This Island, Anastasia, Summer: The Donna Summer Musical and The Band’s Visit as well as the Jamie Reynolds and Melissa Stylianou Group, the Melanie Scholtz and Brian Chareete Quartet, Halau ‘Olelo, FlexN, and Yoo and Dancers. Ann Hoyt and Sonia Rincón (1010 WINS) emcee.
